Coming soon!
Coming soon!

As I begin to shut down the workshop and the home for the week of NAMM, I got to a perfect stopping point in our research on the WA-8000G, having completed a very thorough and aesthetically satisfying upgrade to the power supply and cable. There are improvements to the grounding scheme, wiring, construction, all new capacitors, a new discrete regulator, and much much more. Upon my return, I will finish the R&D into the mic itself and I anticipate new output film capacitors, possibly a new and custom made capsule, and much more! I expect that this will be our final offering in the long-running series of WA tube mic upgrades, and probably the last one as well; as we shift our focus more toward original builds. I believe we have saved the best for last, and can't wait to announce this one with photos, later this year!

We recently built and shipped out the first of the SAE 47 and 48 EF800 tube model units, to great success, and look forward to building many more!

We are already knee deep in developing the PCB and other aspects to the next SAE mic, the long promised and long awaited M49 replica. I cannot wait to share more info about this as we get further along!

My NAMM trip has been shortened due to several flight cancellations and airport closures due to the extreme weather, still I very much look forward to my abbreviated NAMM trip and seeing all of my friends and acquaintances there soon. Even though the tragic fires of Los Angeles and the unprecedented freezing and snowing here in the south puts a definite gloom and damper over this occasion, it is still very healthy to get out of the house and see people. I always come back re-engergized and ready to take on more audio projects, and I have no doube that the same will still be true this time, despite the circumstances. I never thought that my native Louisiana would become a winter wonderland for a brief time... that was certainly not on my bingo card.

See everyone at the show, and if not, I'll be online to talk to everyone again next week!

Chad
